I began my mail-art project in early 2019 as a way to combine my interest in collage with my passion for poetry. I was interested in finding a more authentic and sincere form of sharing affection with those near and dear to me. The postcard as form was inspired by Lenore Tawney as well as an exhibition I saw at The Drawing Center a number of years ago that focused on artist correspondence. The project is intentionally slow in making, in sending. I send all postcards via USPS. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic a few postcards weren't sent open, or took on non-postcard forms. Additionally I have begun adding my own poetry and found-word poetry to them.
